Haneda Airport to Tokyo Station (Including Late Night)
Monorail, Keikyu, bus, and taxi options. What to do if you arrive after the last train.
Quick Answer
- Fastest: Keikyu Line to Shinagawa + JR. About 30 min total, ¥505 (IC card).
- Easiest with JR Pass: Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho + JR Yamanote Line. About 30 min total, ¥520 + ¥160.
- Most direct (no transfer): Airport Limousine Bus. About 30-50 min, ¥1,000.
- Late night (after midnight): Taxi (¥5,000-8,000, 20-30 min) or airport hotel until first train at ~5 AM.
Option 1: Keikyu Line + JR — Fastest and Cheapest
The Keikyu Line connects Haneda Airport directly to Shinagawa Station, where you transfer to JR for Tokyo Station.
Details
- Total time: About 25-30 minutes
- Total cost: ¥505 (IC card fare, Haneda to Tokyo Station direct on Keikyu through-service routes) or ¥327 + ¥170 if transferring at Shinagawa
- Frequency: Every 10-15 minutes
Step-by-Step
- From the international arrivals area (Terminal 3), follow signs to Keikyu Line (京急線). The station is on the basement level, about a 3-minute walk.
- At the ticket gate, tap your IC card (Suica/PASMO). If you do not have one, buy a ticket from the machine to Tokyo (東京) — select ¥505.
- Board a train heading toward Shinagawa (品川). Airport Express and Airport Rapid trains are fastest.
- At Shinagawa Station (11 min), exit the Keikyu gates and transfer to the JR Yamanote Line or JR Tokaido Line.
- JR Yamanote Line to Tokyo Station: about 10-12 minutes. JR Tokaido Line: about 7 minutes.
- Exit at Tokyo Station.
Alternative: Some Keikyu trains run through to the Toei Asakusa Line. These can reach Shimbashi Station, where you can transfer to JR for Tokyo Station (1 stop). Check the destination display on the train.
Why Choose Keikyu
- Fastest total trip time.
- Cheapest option.
- Frequent service.
- IC card works seamlessly.
Watch Out
- Shinagawa Station is large. Follow signs for “JR Yamanote Line” — it is a 3-5 minute walk between Keikyu and JR gates.
- During rush hour (7:30-9:30 AM), trains are very crowded. Keep luggage close.
Option 2: Tokyo Monorail + JR — Scenic and Simple
The Monorail connects Haneda to Hamamatsucho, where you transfer to the JR Yamanote Line.
Details
- Total time: About 30 minutes
- Total cost: ¥520 + ¥160 = ¥680 (or ¥540 with the Monorail & Yamanote Line Discount Ticket on weekends/holidays)
- Monorail time: 13 minutes (Haneda Express) to Hamamatsucho
- Frequency: Every 4-5 minutes
Step-by-Step
- From Terminal 3 arrivals, follow signs to Tokyo Monorail (東京モノレール). The station is a 2-3 minute walk.
- At the gate, tap your IC card or buy a ticket (¥520 to Hamamatsucho).
- Board the monorail. The Haneda Express is fastest (13 min, skips intermediate stops). Local trains take 18 minutes.
- Arrive at Hamamatsucho Station (浜松町). Exit the monorail gates.
- Walk to the JR gates (connected within the same building, 2 minutes).
- Take the JR Yamanote Line heading north (東京方面). Tokyo Station is 3 stops away, about 6 minutes.
- Exit at Tokyo Station.
Weekend deal: Monorail & Yamanote Line Discount Ticket — ¥540 to any Yamanote Line station (sold at Haneda monorail stations on weekends and holidays).
Why Choose the Monorail
- First train at 5:09 AM from Terminal 3 — good for early departures.
- Last train at 12:10 AM — later than most train options.
- Scenic ride along Tokyo Bay waterfront.
- Covered by Japan Rail Pass (Monorail is a JR East subsidiary).
Watch Out
- Slightly more expensive than Keikyu overall.
- The transfer at Hamamatsucho is straightforward but adds a few minutes.
Option 3: Airport Limousine Bus — No Transfers
Direct bus from Haneda to Tokyo Station (Yaesu exit).

- The bus goes directly to Tokyo Station (Yaesu exit area).
- Collect your luggage on arrival.
Why Choose the Bus
- No transfer needed. Sit on the bus, arrive at Tokyo Station.
- Great for heavy luggage.
- Reasonably priced.
Watch Out
- Traffic during rush hour can double the travel time.
- Not as frequent as trains.
Option 4: Taxi — For Late Night or Groups

- Time: 20-30 minutes
- Cost: ¥5,000-8,000 (flat-rate taxis to central Tokyo area available)

Troubleshooting
You need to catch a Shinkansen at Tokyo Station? Take Keikyu to Shinagawa (11 min), then walk to the Shinkansen gates at Shinagawa Station. Many Tokaido Shinkansen trains stop at Shinagawa — you may not need to go to Tokyo Station at all.
Your IC card does not have enough balance? Charge at the ticket machines in the airport station before tapping in. Or buy a paper ticket instead.
You missed the last train by a few minutes? Check if the Keikyu or Monorail has one more departure — last trains can vary by a few minutes depending on the day. Otherwise, take a taxi or wait at the airport.
You arrived at Terminal 1 or 2 (domestic) by mistake? A free shuttle bus connects all terminals. Or take the Keikyu/Monorail one stop between terminals.
